Birdwatching
in Inverpolly can be very interesting at all times of year as the habitats
are so wide and varied. They consist of highland moorland, mountain,
ancient birchwoods and mixed deciduous woods also rugged seashore and
some sandy beaches. Also the many rivers and lochs are worth keeping
an eye on for water fowl. The farmland areas in Strathpolly old and
new add an interesting change to the wildness of the rest of the estate.

birds to look for: Red-Throated Diver, Black throated Diver, Red
breasted Merganser, Goosander, Wigeon, Greylag Goose, Buzzard, Merlin,
Peregrine, Golden Plover, Greenshank, Snipe, Wheatear, Stonechat, Whinchat,
Wood warbler, Dunlin, Golden Eagle, White tailed Eagle, Raven, Ptarmigan,
Dipper.
Wildlife: This is some of the wildest country in Europe with
Fox, Pine Marten, Badger, Otter, Seals, and Red/Roe/Sika Deer, and offshore
Dolphin, Porpoise, Minke whale and Basking shark.
